Dear family of my beloved Aunt Jane,
It is with love and sadness that I greet you all to tell you what a pleasure it was to grow up with my Aunt Jane.
She was 9 years old when I was born and she was like a big sister. She and Aunt Anne taught me together how to ride a bike.
As a teenager, she had a fabulous nail polish collection, which to her distress, I found to be an amazing experiment.
It was always an exciting time to meet a new suitor of hers, although an accidental fart of mine in his presence could send her into a tizzy calling for "Mother" (my understanding Gramma) to intervene.
Her foot size was a serious problem "back in her day" and It was an exciting time when she could find shoes to fit.
Now, my foot size is the same as hers, but times have changed to make these sizes much more accessible.
As a preteen, I was very uncomfortable with my height, but she assured me that it would be easier as I got older. and her self- assuredness made it seem possible.
It is with a sense of love an gratitude that I that I submit these reminiscences to you, her family.
Mary Catherine Thomas Mellum

Jane's family,
So sorry for your loss. I knew her from Catholic Charities. I worked at CHBS and she was a wonderful lady who was a pleasure to talk to. She is now with the Lord who she loves so dearly. God bless, Bill and Nannette Britt
