Obituary of Mary Schwasnick

Mrs. Mary A. Schwasnick, 90, a lifelong Little Falls resident, entered into eternal rest, peacefully, early Sunday morning, January 4, 2004 in the comfort of her home. She was born on January 9, 1913 in Little Falls, a daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Smrekar) Kerzic and was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy, Little Falls. She joined in marriage with Herman Schwasnick on September 1, 1934 in St. Mary's Church, Little Falls. Mr. Schwasnick passed away on September 30, 1994. Even though Mary was deeply saddened by Herman's passing, she always cherished their blessed union of 60 years that they shared. She spent many years and considered the most important factor in her life to take care of her family and her home. Deeply devoted to the Catholic Faith, she was a communicant of Holy Family Parish, Little Falls. She was member of the Slovenian Home, Inc. and the Home Bureau. Always a good mother, Mary has also become an adoring grandmother who has taken a special interest in his grandchildren: she derived great pride and satisfaction in teaching them her personal values and traditions such as love of family, an honorable work ethic, and acceptance of responsibility. She also loved to garden. Mary will also be remembered as a wonderful cook, never letting her loved ones leave her home without feeding them. She leaves two sons, Charles Schwasnick and wife Lauraine of Little Falls and Herm Schwasnick and wife Kathy also of Little Falls, a sister in law, Frances Kerzic of St. Johnsville, six beloved grandchildren, David Schwasnick and wife Mary, Donna Feane and husband Mark, Charles A. Schwasnick and fianc? Jewel Landers, Alana Connolly and husband Chris, Teresa Blumberg and fianc? Ronan Creedon and Lynne Morotti and husband Joseph, eight adored great grandchildren, Ryan and Halle Feane, Dylan and Alex Blumberg, Mary Katherine Keegan, Claire Connolly, and Maria and Geena Morotti. Also surviving is a close niece, Mary Ellen Kirsch, a close nephew, Anthony Kerzic and several cousins. She was predeceased by a twin brother, Charles Kerzic, a sister Helen Stanko, and a brother Anthony Kerzic. The family will gather privately to say goodbye. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial, which will commence at 11 am on Tuesday morning, January 6, 2004 from Holy Family Parish, corner of E. Main and John Streets, with the Rev. Thomas Vail, officiating. Procession will follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Herman.
