Obituary of Jane Mary Jacquays

ILION - Mrs. Jane Mary Jacquays, age 76, formerly of East North Street, Ilion, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 23, 2023, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, in Boston, with her two daughters by her side. Jane was born September 14, 1946, in Ilion, daughter of the late Joseph Catalina and Virginia (Boyer) Catalina and was educated within the Mohawk School System. She was united in marriage with David Gordon Jacquays, on May 21, 1965, a loving and devoted union of 57 years. Mr. and Mrs. Jacquays were inseparable. Jane was a devoted wife, mother, and sister to her seven brothers. She was last employed with Fiberdyne Labs, Inc., in Frankfort, NY and formerly employed with Duofold, in Ilion, NY. Jane was an avid camper and loved spending time at her seasonal campground with her camping friends. She loved sewing and was an awesome seamstress. She was often known for making and filling the biggest Christmas stockings that everyone adored. Her guilty pleasures were her sweets, mashed potatoes and seafood. Jane enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and always went above and beyond for them. She will be sadly missed by those who loved her. She leaves her two daughters: Cynthia M. Dunderdale, of St. Johnsville, NY and Connie L. Jacquays, of Arlington, MA; her grandchildren: Anthony Fernandez, Russell D. Dunderdale and Owen Dunderdale; her surviving siblings: Joseph Catalina and his wife, Patricia, Robert Catalina and his wife, JoAnn, Thomas Catalina, Michael Catalina and his wife, Holly, James Catalina and his wife, Kimmy and Johnny Catalina; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, David Gordon Jacquays; and her brother, Richard Catalina. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023. Family and friends are invited to all services as follows: Calling hours, at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, in Ilion, New York, on Saturday morning, June 3, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home and then we will proceed to Mohawk Cemetery, where interment will take place. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider memorial contributions to literacy foundations that will help adults and children to become literate or come to the services with one of your favorite children’s books that we will donate to a school in need.
