Obituary of Margaret Cook
Ms. Margaret Cook, age 82, a lifelong resident of Frankfort Center, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 21, 2023, in the privacy and comfort of her home.
Born on October 11, 1940, Margaret was the youngest daughter of the late Harry and Flora (Williams) Cook. She was raised and educated locally and graduated from Frankfort High School.
As a hardworking, old-school woman, Margaret spent many years as a receptionist in the physical therapy department of Faxton-St. Luke’s Hospital. She also worked as a school crossing guard and as a bus monitor for Bernie Bus until her health no longer allowed her to do so.
Margaret was strong-willed and extremely independent. In her younger years, she was extremely close to her parents and throughout her life she enjoyed the simple things. She was a lover of horses and often spoke of her pet donkey, Jackie!
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Kathleen Butts, Daniel and Sheila Cook, Joseph Farley, Linda Cook and Judy Butts; and many great-nieces and great-nephews, with special mention of Edward Deserre and his children, Tarah, Giulianna and Broc; they always looked out for their Aunt Margaret and took great care of her in her final years.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents; her siblings, Harry Cook, Milton Cook and Agnes Butts; her niece, Joyce Farley; and her nephews, Foster Butts and Phillip Cook.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation for Margaret on Tuesday morning, May 30, 2023, from 10:00AM – 11:00AM at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000. Her funeral service will commence at 11:00AM at the funeral home and procession will follow to Frankfort Center Cemetery where her earthly remains will be laid to rest with her parents.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate Funeral Directors. Online notes of sympathy may be left at www.eneafamily.com.
