Obituary of Jacob D. Crewell

FORT PLAIN - Jake (Jacob D.) Crewell, a longtime resident of Fort Plain,NY, fell asleep in death, on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at home, with his loving family by his side, after a long battle with cancer. Jake was born on October 11, 1941, in Cherry Valley, NY to Vaughn and Loretta Crewell. He married his high school sweetheart, Carleta M. Keller, 62 years ago. Together they raised 4 children, had 7 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren. His wife Carleta will always remember Jake as a hard-working provider and for his love for the Bible and his God, Jehovah. Jake was well known in the community for his love of farming. He was proud to be a dairy farmer all his life and enjoyed the days when he could plant corn and mow hay. Jake was always looking out for his neighbors and was willing to help anyone he could. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, he loved reading and studying the Bible and he was known for sharing his hope for the future, as promised in the Bible with anyone he talked with. The promise of paradise is what made him smile every day. Jake is survived by his wife, Carleta; his children, Mark (Deborah), Michele (Matt), Micah (Pamela) and Rebekah (Chad); and his seven grandchildren, Vincent, Sean, Jordan, Kyle, Alexis, Brandon and Brody. Donations can be made to Jehovah’s Witnesses, at donate.jw.org A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 14,2023, at 1:30 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 165 W.
