I went to school with Shane. We had lunch at the same table every day. He was a few years older so we had no classes together yet lunch was always fun. It was usually Shane B,Timmy T, Sharon H, Kathy C, sometimes Devon B, Paula L...... Always a good afternoon. I think of those days often.

When I was a teenager I was at his house and he asked if I wanted to see the new piglets. Of course I did. I learned very guickly to run when you pick one up or mama will get you! I don't think I ever saw Shane laugh so hard!. In 2006 I started my job at Hamilton College. I was newly widowed and dirt poor. At least 3 or 4 times he went way out of his way to pick me up and take me back home when my car broke down. Not once would he take any money for gas. Boy, did I appreciate that!! I know he will be missed but I picture the welcome he got from Sue and it makes it a tiny bit better!

Shane Buchanan will remain in our hearts forever. He was one of the best co workers that I had the privilege of working with.
