Obituary of Timothy A. Dunn

MOHAWK – Mr. Timothy Alan (Bootsie) Dunn, age 79, passed away Wednesday evening, September 28, 2022, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 10, 1942, in Little Falls, New York, the son of the late Timothy F. and Edna M. (Block) Dunn. He graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in the Class of 1961. He honorably served our country in the United States Army for nearly four years. Returning home, he met and married the love of his life, Pearl Childs to whom he was married for more than 58 years. Hard work was a mainstay in Tim’s life, as he worked for more than three decades at Remington Arms and at Mohawk Central School. A longtime resident of Mohawk, NY, Tim was a dedicated community servant, volunteering time as a firefighter with the Mohawk Fire Department, a coach with the Mohawk Little League and a leader with the Boy Scouts of America. He also spent time as a Life Member of the American Legion Post (#25), as a member of the Mohawk Community Club and as a volunteer on the Mohawk Planning and Zoning Board. Tim and Pearl both have been longtime members and volunteers with the Mohawk Blessed Sacrament Church. The couple greatly enjoyed their family and grandchildren and travelled extensively throughout the United States, including Hawaii, as well as Ireland, England and Italy. They found great comfort at their 6th Lake Camp and restful times at Lake George. Tim could often be found enjoying puttering around the house, enjoying a fire in his fireplace, as well as boating, fishing and spending time with his family. He is survived by his beloved family: his wife, Pearl; his children and their spouses, Stacey and Pierre Michaud, Kelley and Jim Macisco, Jill and Gerry Conway and Timothy and Elizabeth Dunn. His pride and joy were his grandchildren, including Stephanie Boepple, RJ Smith, Brooke Macisco (Jack Derby), Cody Macisco (Ally Hyde), Finn and Annabel Conway, Evelyn and Maureen Dunn; great-grandchildren, Veda and Casey Boepple; step-grandchildren, Adrienne (Rob) Watson, Danny (Lexi) Michaud; step-great-grandchildren, Jack and Lida Watson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 3, 2022, at 10:15 a.m., from the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, Ilion and at 11:00 a.m., at the Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk, New York, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Leo Potvin, assisted by Sr. Mary Jo Tallman. Interment at Mohawk Cemetery with full military rites will take place at a time convenient to the family. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion, New York, on Sunday, October 2nd, from 2 until 5 p.m. and then invited to attend the following day for Funeral Services at 11 a.m., at Blessed Sacrament Church, in Mohawk. At the calling hours, the Mohawk American Legion is invited to pay their respects as a group, at 4 p.m. and the Mohawk Fire Dept. and Exempt Assoc. may gather together at 4:30 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be considered to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford, NY 13413. The family is comforted by all the acts of kindness and sympathy that have and are currently being extended during this very difficult time. All arrangements have been carefully planned with family friends, Enea, Ciaccia and Applegate, Funeral Directors (315) 894-8000. An online memorial tribute has been established at www.eneafamily.com on the Internet and this shall appear in the Friday, September 30, 2022 edition of the Herkimer Times Telegram newspaper as well.
