Obituary of Joan A. Treen

HERKIMER-SCHUYLER – Joan (Cioch) A. Treen, age 81, of Herkimer, formerly of Schuyler, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at home. She was born on July 4, 1940, in Ilion, the daughter of Joseph and Emeline (Finster) Cioch. Joan attended Frankfort, Richfield Springs and Whitesboro schools. She was employed in clerical positions at MDS, for 25 years. Later, Joan worked as a Home Health Aide at Herkimer Co. Public Health Dept. Surviving family members include her brother, Robert Cioch and his wife, Geraldine, of Ilion; her sisters, Susan Maloy and her husband, Mike, of Ilion and Frances Cioch, of E. Herkimer; her sister-in-law, Bernadette Cioch; her uncle, Howard; her niece, Tera Batchelder, of Herkimer; nephews, Tommy, Carl, Chad, John and Matthew; and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; her son, Richard, in 1978; her brother, Joe Cioch; nephew, Joey; and infant brother, John. In keeping with Joan’s wishes, there will not be any scheduled public calling hours or services at this time.
