Obituary of William H. Deyle

ILION – William “Bill” H. Deyle, age 67, of Avery Rd., Ilion, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at home, with his family by his side. He was born on September 24, 1954, in Ilion, the son of Frank and Winifred (Flock) Deyle and attended Ilion schools. On September 18, 1976, Bill was married to Dawn Phillips Foster, in Ilion. He was the Owner and Operator of Bill Deyle’s Repair, Inc., of Ilion, specializing in car repair, body repair and towing. Bill was a board member of the Empire State Towing Association and a member of the Frankfort Fire Dept. (Fire Police) and the Ilion Snow Drifters. He was an avid snowmobile rider and at one time was involved in Boy Scouts. Surviving family members include his wife, of 45 years, Dawn; his son, William “Bill” Deyle II, of Ilion; his daughter, Kathy Jameson and her husband, Tony, of Granby, Colorado; his stepson, Tom Foster and his wife, Michelle, of New York Mills; his grandchildren, twins, Joe and Freya Jameson, Thomas Foster III and Brody Foster; his sister, Cathy Deyle, of Chico, CA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Barb White; and his brother, Jim Deyle. Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours, on Friday, October 15, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home’s larger location, at 4309 Acme Rd. (old Main St.) between Ilion and Frankfort. Bill’s Celebration of Life Service will be held immediately after calling hours, at 6:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. If you are planning on attending the calling hours or service, please wear a mask, so we can try to keep everyone safe. Thank you. A special Honor Guard Procession of tow truck and recovery trucks will escort Bill’s remains, on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., from the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home’s larger location, at 4309 Acme Rd. (old Main St.) between Ilion and Frankfort (315-895-7722). Anyone wishing to share a memory of Bill, or add to his online memorial, may go to www.applegateandday.com. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Frankfort Fire Dept., 158 S.
