Obituary of Robert E. Foster

ILION - Mr. Robert E. Foster, Jr., age 67, of Ilion, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, February 19, 2017 at Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare Center, following a brief illness. Robert was born on March 16, 1949, the son of the late Edward and Dorothy Foster. He was raised and educated in Ilion and graduated from local schools. On May 22, 1976, he was wed to the former Patricia J. Rende and the couple shared in a blessed union of almost forty years, until Patricia's passing on February 25, 2016. For many years, Robert was employed with the Herkimer County Highway Department as a Highway Foreman. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Jon Cordero of Rome; his grandchildren, Makayla, Desarae, Giovanni and Hailey, and one great-grandson, Omar. He also leaves numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, Robert was predeceased by his son, Robert Foster. All funeral services will be held privately, and Robert will be laid to rest in Armory Hill Cemetery with his wife and son in the spring.
