Obituary of Dorothy Mae Durfee (Wagner)

 

NELLISTON – Mrs. Dorothy Mae Durfee (Wagner) passed away at the age of 92 on Easter Sunday morning, April 1, 2018 under the care of the St. Johnsville Rehabilitation & Nursing Center with her loving family at her side. Dorothy valiantly dealt with dementia and cancer.

 

She was born in Dolgeville, NY on June 22, 1925 a daughter of the late Joseph and Emma (Millerskofski) Wagner. She was a bus driver and a dedicated housewife raising five children. She was predeceased by her husband Leland F. “Bud” Durfee and her oldest son, Leland J. Durfee. She is survived by her children, Richard & Jenny Durfee and Kenny and Pam Durfee who live in Wyoming, Pam Durfee of Ephratah, and Andy Durfee of Nelliston. Also, by her grandchildren, Shelley, Rick, Tracy, Heather, Adrian, Spencer, Jessica and Hayleigh. As well as six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and two older sisters, Helen Richardson of Rochester and Ruth Leach of Meco, NY.

 

There will be no calling hours or services. Her arrangements are with The Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street in St. Johnsville, NY (518) 568-2300. Dot’s wishes were to be cremated just the same as her husband Leland with a private service. Those wishing to remember Dot in a special way are asked to consider a donation in her memory to either the Ayers Animal Shelter, 133 Hilltop Road, Sprakers, NY 12166 or to Alzheimer’s Association of CNY 441 West Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse, NY 13204-1361.
