Obituary of David J. Cook
Dave was born in
During his lifetime he worked at various jobs, including farming, driving truck for Daniel Green’s in Dolgeville, and for a short time, as a custodian at
Dave enjoyed time spent with his Furkids, Rascal, Spookie and Wolf, going on adventures with Jamie and taking long rides in the country. He could often be found sitting at the picnic table in the back yard, listening to the creek.
Besides his wife and mother, Dave is survived by his twin sister Laurie Demoff, his sisters Charlotte Frasier (Brian), Donna Amorosia (Jim) and his step-children Neil Bandel, Nicole Kennedy and Renee’ O’Brien, whom he helped raise and thought of as his own children. He also leaves behind his in-laws, Gary Van Veghten, Bonnie Abbott, Ginny Van Veghten and Jamie’s extended family. Dave will be missed by his paternal uncle and aunt, Charles and Jean Cook as well as many cousins, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, Dave was predeceased by his grandparents including his beloved “Grandma Dorothy”
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the Enea Family Funeral Home 24 W. Monroe St. Little Falls. A service will follow immediately at 11 AM. Afterward, family and friends are invited to a celebration of Dave’s life to take place at the Travelodge in Little Falls. Those wishing to remember David in a special way are asked to consider a donation in his memory to the Herkimer County Humane Society,
We would like to thank the staff of the St. Luke’s ICU including Andrey, Janice and Donna for the great care they took of Dave in his last days. Special thanks also to all of Dave’s doctors including Drs. Kashtanova, E. Wassel, Koussa and Din, the staff at Herkimer Dialysis and the entire staff of AC3 for their love, caring and support shown to Jamie.
