Obituary of Katherine A. (Sullivan) Hugick

HERKIMER – Mrs. Katherine A. (Sullivan) Hugick, age 84, of Herkimer, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 11, 2018 at Heritage Healthcare, Utica, NY. Katherine was blessed to have her daughters, Cindy and Terry at her side. Katherine received outstanding compassionate care at the Heritage Healthcare and her family is very grateful for what they have done for Katherine.

She was born on April 25, 1933 in Herkimer, a daughter of the late John and Fern (Crist) Sullivan. She was a graduate of Mohawk High School. On July 12, 1952 she joined in marriage with Casimir P. Hugick. Her devoted husband of over 51 years, Casimir, passed away on August 24, 2003. Katherine worked throughout the years at Farm Credit Bureau and Herkimer Memorial Hospital. She last worked at Mohawk Valley General Hospital in Ilion as a Billing Department Specialist.

Katherine was a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother and provider to her entire family of which her world revolved around. She is survived by her children, Terry and Joe DeCola, Cindy and Larry Woody, and Susan and Robert Reed. Her grandchildren, Matt and Phoenix Woody, Stacy and Chris Willis, Joe DeCola, Jamie and Mike Brock, Kelly and Scott Plasse, and Chad and Michelle Reed. Her great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Ryan, Emerson, Sarah, Anna, Riley, Liam, Brady, Taya, Hunter and Lauren. Her brother and sister-in-law, Buddy and Cathy Crist and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her In-Laws, Mary and Jim Lawson, Paul and Ronnie Hugick, Pat Hugick, and a former son-in-law, Jon Trosset.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday January 17, 2018 at 10:00 AM in St. Francis de Sales Church, North Bellinger Street in Herkimer. The Reverend Mark Cunningham will officiate. Interment will be in the Spring of 2018 at Calvary Cemetery in Herkimer.

There will be calling hours at The Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street in Herkimer, NY. (315) 866-1011. They will be held on Tuesday January 16^th from 4 until 7 PM.
