Obituary of Dennis P. "Bud" Dowling

ILION – Mr. Dennis P. “Bud” Dowling, age 75, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, in the privacy and comfort of his home.

 

Born in Jamaica, Queens, on October 4, 1942, Dennis was the son of the late Harold J. Dowling and Margaret Mary Caruso. He received his education and training in the engineering field, and spent his career as an Engineer and Machinist, retiring in 1998.

 

Bud enjoyed all things mechanical, and his hobbies included racing cars, building engines, motorcycling and car clubs. He was a good father, grandfather, neighbor and friend and his presence will be missed by those he leaves behind.

 

He is survived by his sons, Daniel Dowling and fiancée, Cheryl Johnson, Matthew Dowling and wife, Suzanne, and Dale Coria and wife, Amy; his daughter, Dawn Dowling; his grandchildren, Cole Dowling, Kateri Dowling, Nick Dowling, Luke Dowling, Will Dowling, Sophia Planakis, Matt Coria and Mike Coria; and his cousins, LauraLee Bach and Annie Gohde.

 

Friends and relatives are invited to attend Bud’s calling hours, which will be held on Friday afternoon, December 29, 2017, from 2:00PM – 4:00PM at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000. His funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence at 4:00PM at the funeral home, immediately upon the conclusion of visitation. Spring interment will take place in Fly Creek Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions in Bud’s name to Catholic Charities of Herkimer County, 61 West Street, Ilion, NY 13357. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
