Obituary of William Youker

William Henry Youker Sr., 90 of 1013 Emmonsburg Rd., Salisbury Center, and more recently a resident of Valley Health Services, entered into eternal rest with his loving family by his side on Sunday, December 15, 2002. He was born November 9, 1912, in the town of Stratford, the son of the late Clarence and Mable (Durrin) Youker. Bill was educated in Stratford and Norway schools. He was married to Orilla Remonda of February 6, 1938, in the town of Ohio by the late Town Justice George Flansburg. They were blessed with seven children. Bill worked as a logger and on farms in Herkimer, Norway and two in Fairfield until he retired from farming in 1969, then he went to work for the Adirondack Bat Factory until he retired in 1980. Mr. Youker was a member of the Full Gospel Assembly of God Church in Salisbury Center. For many years Bill was councilman for the Royal Rangers. He and his wife were Foster parents with the New York State Division of Youth out of Utica. He was known as Dad and Grandpa by many outside the family. He spent many hours working in his vegetable garden and enjoyed sharing with those who needed it. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved and knew him. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Orilla; a son, William H. (Billy) Youker Jr. and wife Earlene of Dolgeville; five daughters, Elizabeth (Bette) Comstock and husband Roselle of Salisbury Center, Eleanor (Ellie) Wilhelm and husband Jack of Albany, Carolyn (Carol) Brown and husband Arnold of Dolgeville, Joyce (Jack) Youker of Salisbury Center and Deborah (Debby) Blow and husband Steven of Albany; a brother, Leonard Youker of Vickeryville, Michigan; three sisters; Pearl Voorhees of Little Falls, Iva Mae Youker of Herkimer and Dorothy Stanley of Little Falls; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Theodore Rutkowski of Herkimer and John Adamko of Salisbury Center; and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a son, James A. Youker, two grandchildren, Faith Brown and Steven Youker; a brother; Carl Youker; and four sisters, Bertha Cool, Edna Adamko, Margaret Weddle and Evelyn Rutkowski. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2002, at 11 a.m. from the Full Gospel Assembly of God in Salisbury Center, with Reverend Robert Brent, pastor, officiating. Spring interment will be in Salisbury Rural Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the Full Gospel Assembly of God Church on Tuesday, December 17, 2002, from 5-8:30 p.m. Arrangements are by the Enea Funeral Home 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls.
