Obituary of John McCarthy

John M. "Jack" McCarthy, age 61, of 121 Lyle Rd., Little Falls passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday afternoon, December 18, 2002 at St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford with his loving family by his side. Jack was born on September 9, 1941 in Ilion, a son of the late John and Priscilla (Beauchamp) McCarthy. He graduated from St. Mary's Academy, Little Falls. He has resided in Little Falls for the past 10 years. He was united in marriage to the former Linda Schiell on May 28, 1966 in Little Falls at St. Mary's Church. He served our country with the United States Army. He was last employed with Lasalle Labratories in Little Falls as a supervisor and was employed by Clear Springs Water Company in Frankfort. He was a communicant of Holy Family Parish, Little Falls. He was a former member of the Little Falls Elk's Lodge where he served as treasurer at one time and a former member of the men's club and the Little Falls/Ilion Moose Lodge. As a man who gave freely of himself, Jack held his family dear to his heart and was a solid foundation to his family. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and taking care of his home. He also enjoyed dancing and NASCAR. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. He leaves his beloved wife, Linda of the home address, a son Michael John McCarthy of Connecticut, a brother Tom McCarthy of Syracuse, two sisters, Jeanne Munger and husband Alfred "Skip" Munger of Little Falls, Peggy Andrilla and husband Alan of Little Falls, his mother in law, Donna Schiell of Texas, three sisters in law, Karen Judge and husband Jerry of North Carolina, Debbie Schiell of Kansas, Paulette Workman of Texas, nieces and nephews, Pam Munger, Lori Becker, Steven Munger, Ryan, Gina and Marc Andrilla, Joshua and Jesse McCarthy, Donna Lynn Craig, Nikki, Heather, Robbie, Amanda, and Kenneth Workman and Jodie Higgins. Also surviving are several cousins and many friends. Jack's mother passed away on November 2, 1991 and his father passed away on December 4, 1991. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls on Friday, December 20, 2002 from 4-7 p.m. The funeral will commence on Friday evening at 7 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Charles R. Celeste, pastor of Holy Family Parish, Little Falls officiating and music will be offered by Helen Maksymicz, organist. Jack will be laid to rest this spring in St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer at the family's convenience. The family would like to offer their deepest gratitude to the staff at St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
