Obituary of Alice Lawrence

Mrs. Alice Frances Lawrence, age 73, of 21 Ward St., Little Falls, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 23, 2002 at Valley Health Services, Herkimer. She was surrounded by her beloved family at the time of her passing. Alice was born on January 25, 1929 in St. Johnsville, a daughter of the late Daniel and Fern (Burton) Patterson and she received her education in Dolgeville schools. She was united in marriage with John Lawrence on August 20, 1947 in St. Mary's Church, Little Falls. Mr. Lawrence passed away on August 18, 1974. She was a communicant of Holy Family Parish, Little Falls. Survivors include her six beloved children, Donald Lawrence and wife Sue of Richfield Springs, Peter Lawrence of Rochester, Mark Lawrence and wife Bernadine of Little Falls, Lisa Gamberdella and husband Richard of Little Falls, Joseph Lawrence and wife Celeen of Cannan, NY and Jack Sidoran of Florida, a daughter in law, Laura of Little Falls, twelve cherished grandchildren and three cherished great grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, in laws, and cousins including Bruce and Millie Burton, Judy Haberek and lifelong friend Harriet Green. She was preceded in death by a son, John Lawrence and a brother, John Chester Patterson. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls on Thursday, (today), December 26, from 5-8 p.m. Her funeral will commence at 9:15 am on Friday morning from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered by Sister Marilyn Hayes, CSJ and 10 am from Holy Family Parish, corner of E. Main and John Streets, Little Falls where the Rev. Charles R. Celeste will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband John in St. Mary?s Cemetery, town of Herkimer following the Mass. Kindly consider memorial contributions to the A.L.S. Foundation, envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The family offers its deepest gratitude to the staff at Valley Health Services, Herkimer for their compassion, time, effort and empathy shown.
