Obituary of Ethel Dunn

Ethel C. Dunn, 73, of 1110 Dairy Hill Road, Salisbury, entered into eternal rest peacefully Monday evening, December 29, 2003, in Valley Health Services. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded with the comfort and support of her loved ones at her bedside. She was born on December 5, 1920, in Long Lake, a daughter of the late William and Elsie (McIntyre) Helms and was educated in Long Lake schools. She resided in Sauquoit at one time and has resided in Salisbury for the past 19 years. Ethel was united in marriage with Joseph M. Dunn Sr., in 1948 in Malone. Mr. Dunn passed away in June of 1997. Ethel was a loving mother, sister and grandmother, fulfilling these roles with great success. In her leisure time she loved listening to country music and enjoyed knitting and gardening. Survivors include five children, Jerrilyn Clark of Utica, Catherine Wiley of Williamstown, Joseph Dunn Jr., of Holland Patent, Tracey Crandall of Eaton and Kelly Pecarello and friend, Scott Starring, of Salisbury; a brother, Fred Helms and wife, Patsy, of Ohio; two sisters, Freda Mitchell of South Carolina and Joan Ray of Interlaking; sixteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins, including Mary Talcott of Stratford, who was very special to Ethel. She was predeceased by a sister Jane Helms and by two grandchildren. The family will receive relatives and friends in the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, on Friday evening January 2, 2004, from 6-7 p.m. Ethel's funeral will commence at 7 p.m. on Friday evening in the chapel of Enea Funeral Home with the Rev. Jon Noble officiating. She will be laid to rest this spring in Long Lake Cemetery, Long Lake.
