Obituary of Barbara A. Patruska

ST. JOHNSVILLE – Miss Barbara A. Patruska, 70, currently of the Town of St. Johnsville, passed away unexpectedly, on Monday evening, March 13, 2023, at her private residence. She was born on May 25, 1952, in Little Falls, daughter of the late Anthony A. and Gladys F. (Polinski) Patruska. She was a graduate of St. Johnsville School and went on to attend Pawelson Business Institute, Syracuse, New York, having received her Associate Degree. Barb’s faith was strengthened through St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, in St. Johnsville and through the years she had worked at Palatine Dye and Felt Shoe. Most notably, she was employed for many years with Beech-Nut, Canajoharie, New York, where we remember her meticulous record keeping as well as complete balancing of the warehouse. Barb did not forget anything, a better memory than an elephant, so to speak. Barb was an icon in our community, many of us remembering her with a memory that leaves us a nice smile. Through the years, these memories are inclusive to her exceptional vicious ability to play cards and her love of heading to the Saratoga Race Track with her friend, Jack Laraway. She spoiled rotten Molly the dog! All in all, Barb had a heart of gold. Let it be known throughout her existence she had not a bad word to say about anyone. This of course, unless she did not take her medicine! Contrary to all of her wonderful attributes, Barb was NOT a good driver. She loved loud music and most of all, Miss Abygail. Her family she joins in heaven include her parents; and siblings, Donald, John, Gary, Mark and Tom. She and her brother Tom used to go to the Yankees games. Tom would watch the game and Barbara would go to the concession stands. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a Graveside Service, commencing later this summer, at a time to be announced, at the St. Johnsville Cemetery. Barb and all of her his family's care through the years have been placed in trust of Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate Funeral Directors (518) 568-2300. Barb made sure of this by preplanning her wishes well in advance.
