Obituary of Brenda B. Brice

Mrs. Brenda B. Brice, age 82, formerly of Herkimer and currently of Hayward, California, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2023, at the Kaiser Permanente San Leandro Medical Center in San Leandro, CA. Born on March 24, 1940, in Manhattan, NY, Brenda was the daughter of the late James and Thelma (LaBarge) Huston. She was raised and educated in the Bronx, graduating from St. Joseph’s School. On August 3, 1960, Brenda was married to Mr. James Brice in Yonkers, NY and together they shared in a loving union of 47 years until Jim’s passing on July 11, 2008. Brenda’s career was spent in the non-for-profit field and her last position was that of Executive Director for the Mt. Kisco Housing Authority in Mt. Kisco, NY. She was a member of Sts. Anthony & Joseph Church in Herkimer where she belonged to the crafty ladies society. She was also a member of the Herkimer Senior Citizens club and a life member of the Herkimer VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary. Brenda is survived by her children, Ginger and Ernie Hogue of Hayward, CA and Kenyon and Karen Brice of Mt. Kisco, NY; and her grandchildren, Arend Smith, Fox Smith, Jamie Brice and Joseph Brice. Brenda’s earthly remains will be laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery with her husband in the summer of 2023. Final arrangements have been entrusted to the Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate Funeral Directors.
