Obituary of Helen Margaret Bluett

LITTLE FALLS – Helen Margaret Bluett, 83, of Little Falls, NY, formerly of Ilion, passed away peacefully, on December 18, 2022, at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Utica, NY, after a brief illness. Helen was surrounded by her grandchildren and visited by many of her loved ones. Helen was born October 23, 1939, in Ilion, daughter to the late Harold Wheeler and Virginia Binney. She lived most of her life in Ilion and Herkimer. Helen is survived by 4 of her children, Dianna Gannon, Tammy Chilluffo (Robert Stemmle), Sharon Seiber and Clifford Bluett; her grandchildren, Adaire (Donnie) Holtz-Lindsey, Vanessa Holtz, Renee Bluett, Nicole Bluett, TeJay (Kathryn) Chilluffo, Taylor Chilluffo (Mike Fahy) and Olivia Seiber; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Danford “Danny” Bluett; mother-in-law, Olive McGrade; foster parents, Oscar and Mary Lamphere; twin sisters, Jean Sabatino and Janet Harrington; beloved daughter, Michele Holtz; and her grandchildren, Sonia Zoeckler, Alfred Dygert and Leah Holtz. Helen was a homemaker, caring day-in and day-out for her five children. She loved looking for a hot deal and could be found at any local garage sale, (for which the family is thankful she never discovered Facebook Marketplace). Helen was known amongst family as the epitome of class and the Ambassador of sass, with quick wit and a one-of-a-kind sense of humor. She loved being a grandmother and loved her family like no other. She will be dearly missed. Calling hours and Prayer Service will be held on Friday, December 23, 2022, at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, in Herkimer. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. A special Prayer Service will take place at 4:00 p.m., by Reverend Chris Wintermute. A Celebration of Life will take place in the summer when Helen can be laid to rest next to her beloved Danny, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer. We would like to send a special thank you to Craig and Mary Beth Hartmann for their amazing support to Helen and family throughout this time, to Dr. Winn, of St. Elizabeth’s, for her caring manner and exceptional care and to the Day Program, at Folts Brook for their loving care. Those wishing to remember Helen in a special way are asked to consider a donation in her memory to Folts Brook Day Program, 104 N. Washington St., Herkimer, NY 13350. Arrangements are under the direction of Harry J. and Kevin E. Enea and Martin L. Ciaccia, Funeral Directors, of the Enea Family Funeral Home, Herkimer.
