Obituary of Robert B. Hart, Sr.

HERKIMER – Mr. Robert B. Hart, Sr., age 84, of Eureka Avenue, entered into eternal rest, on Saturday morning, November 26, 2022, in the comfort of his private residence. He was born on November 6, 1938, in Ilion, New York, a son of the late John F. and Blanche (DeLong) Hart. Bob was raised and educated in Ilion, a graduate of Ilion High School. On June 22, 1957, he married Linda L. Fauvelle, in the Church of the Annunciation, Ilion, a loving union of sixty-two years and she passed away August 29, 2019. Bob served our community as the Village of Herkimer Chief of Police with great honor. First and fore-most in his life was his home and family. He was happiest when he was surrounded by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed camping on 4th Lake, hunting and fishing. He was most proud of his Indian Heritage. Surviving are his beloved family: his five children, Patricia Hart and her husband, Ron Johnson, of Herkimer, Robert Hart, Jr. and his wife, Lissette, of Latham, New York, Richard Hart and his wife, Christine, of Herkimer, John Hart and his wife, Heather, of Naples, Florida and Eric Hart, of Herkimer; grandchildren, Corey Adams, Andrew Oldfield, Andrea Hart, Lyndsay Fort, Devin Hart, Skylar Hart and Alicia Pasos; great-grandchildren, Haedyn Adams, Kaeli Ulatowski, Andrew Oldfield, Jr., Brylee Fort, Kenzie Fort and Lilly Fort; a great-great grandson, Lincoln Griffith; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard, Ronald and Roger Hart. Funeral Service will be on Friday, December 2, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., in the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, Herkimer. The Reverend Joelle Faulks, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Herkimer/Little Falls, will officiate. Mr. Hart will then be laid to rest in the Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends, on Friday, December 2, 2022, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. All are invited to attend the services. We are grateful for the Herkimer Police Department, whose members will stand attentive at the casket throughout the calling hours and will serve as pall bearers as well. At 12:45 p.m., on Friday, there will be a walk-through passing the casket at the funeral home and this invitation is open to all enforcement agencies and personnel.
