Obituary of Stacey M. Lawrence

Stacey M. Lawrence, age 59, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 7, 2022, in the privacy and comfort of her home. Born on October 28, 1963, Stacey was the daughter of the late Bruce E. Lawrence, Sr. and Charlotte D. (Zimmerman) Price. She was also blessed to know the love and support of her late stepfather, John M. Price, Sr. Stacey was raised and educated locally, graduating from Herkimer High School. Years later, she would go on to further her education, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from SUNY Empire State College in 2009. Stacey’s career was spent with the ARC where she served as a caregiver in various residences throughout the Mohawk Valley. She would also become heavily involved in the RISE Recovery Community Outreach Center as a counselor, aiding others in the prevention, treatment and recovery for substance abuse. It was an important cause that was very close to Stacey’s heart. Stacey was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her sons, Dakota Price of Ilion and Deric Handley and his wife, Grace, of Texas; her seven beloved grandchildren; and a brother, Bruce E. Lawrence, Jr. She was predeceased by her parents and her beloved son, LonDale King, who passed on August 20, 2014. In keeping with Stacey’s wishes there will be no public funeral services at this time.
