Obituary of Theodore B. Teletnick

MILLERS MILLS – Theodore B. Teletnick, age 67, of Depot Rd., Millers Mills, NY, passed away suddenly, yet quiet and peacefully, at home, on Thursday evening, November 3, 2022. He was born on April 2, 1955, in Ilion, NY, the son of Theodore and Grace Marie (Brooks) Teletnick. He attended Mount Markham Central School and went on to attend SUNY Morrisville. He was employed by Herkimer County Soil and Water Conservation District and retired as Field District Manager. He was a Member of the Columbia Town Board for over 30 years, 15 of which he served as Deputy Supervisor. He was a Farmer Representative for the Herkimer Co. Farmland Protection Board. He was a longtime Committee Member for the Farm Progress Show and he was a Member of the Joseph Berberick Hose Co. (Cedarville Fire Dept.), since October, 1979. He served as their Treasurer from 1985-1995 and most recently was Commissioner for the Columbia-Litchfied Fire District, for 15 years. On a lighter note, he was also happy to be a longtime member of the "Cedarville Moosehead Club." Ted was an avid outdoorsman who dedicated his life to environmental conservation, farming and public service. He raised Black Angus and also produced high quality hay on the family farm which was often purchased by racetracks downstate. He was also an avid lifetime hunter and trapper. Ted was a true friend to all who had the pleasure to know him and he will be sorely missed by all. Surviving family members include his beloved daughter, Sarah Smith and her significant other, Marcus Perritano; granddaughter, Sammi, of Frankfort, NY; his sister, Pat (Edward "Spike") Schutz, of W. Edmeston, NY; his brother, Stephen (Michele) Teletnick, of Dillsburg, PA; his nephew, Ed (Kristen) Schutz, of Cary, NC; and nephews, Andrew Teletnick and Ben Teletnick.
