Obituary of M. Patricia Feeney

M. Patricia “Pat” Feeney, age 64, passed away on November 1, 2022 at the Abraham House in Utica after a 9 year battle with cancer. Pat was born in Augusta, Georgia on February 15, 1958, the daughter of the late Gerald and Mary (O’Shea) Feeney. She was raised in Little Falls and moved to Mohawk in 1994, where she currently still resided. Pat is survived by her three sisters, Elizabeth Tolman, Susan Moller and Kathleen Feeney. She also leaves her son, Jay Herringshaw and children; her daughter and son-in-law, Courtney and David Hazzard; and her beloved granddaughters, Katherine and Destiny, with whom she shared a very strong bond with. Pat’s daughter, Courtney, is currently due with twin girls, Kayleigh and Kylie, in approximately eight weeks. Pat was very excited for this and very badly wanted to meet them. They now have a guardian angel to forever watch over them! Pat was pre-deceased by her mother, Mary (O’Shea) Feeney, in 2020, her father, Gerald Feeney, in 1995, as well as her former husband and friend, Jay Herringshaw, in 2014. Pat was a hardworking, loving LPN, who was employed at Valley Health Services in Herkimer for 30 years before retiring in 2020. Pat also worked as a CNA at Valley Health prior to becoming an LPN; along with farming along with her former husband at the Friendly Acres Farm in Danube. Pat was a member of Redeemer Church in Utica and had many loving friends, along with strong religious beliefs. She was a kind, caring, loving and strong person, who wanted nothing but the best for her loved ones. Her faith was strong and her love was abundant. She was always there for those in need. A special thank you is extended to the caregivers of Hospice as well as the Abraham House in both Utica and Rome. They have truly been a blessing in helping Pat through these last seven months. The staffs of both Hospice and the Abraham House have been amazing to not only Pat, but to her family and friends as well. They gave so much compassion and respect and did an excellent job in caring for Pat. They helped her and her family so much through this incredibly difficult process.
