Obituary of Thomas Wyraz

NEW HARTFORD – Tom Wyraz, age 82, of New Hartford, passed away on Sunday morning, October 9, 2022, in the Town of New Hartford, with the love and support of his family by his side. Tom was very proud of his family: son, daughter, wife, grandson’s accomplishments and his friends who loved him. Tom was born on September 8, 1940, in Little Falls, New York, son of the late Walter and Helen (Widanka) Wyraz, having been raised and educated there. He was a retired financial consultant with Morgan Stanley / Smith Barney, of New Hartford, New York. As an outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and the camaraderie of these sports. He was an excellent marksman and duck hunter and a fisherman as well, with his son and grandsons and son-in-law. He was a man of strong character and integrity. He had a fun-loving personality and took pleasure in socializing with his many friends and family. Tom is survived by his wife, Kathy (DeLorenzo); one son and daughter-in-law, Tom and wife, Lisa Wyraz; one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and husband, Kerry Maring; and two grandsons, Kyle and Alex Maring. He is also survived by one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Anita and her husband, Louis Colangelo; along with the nephews, all of Syracuse. The family honored all of Tom’s final wishes, inclusive to a private gathering and no calling hours. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life, a Memorial Formation which will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish, 648 Jay St., Utica, New York, officiated by Rev. James Cesta, Pastor. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of the Mass. Then, interment shall take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer, New York, in the family plot. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Homes Foundation, 110 Utica Road, Clinton, NY 13323. Envelopes will also be available at the Church Service. Tom assured his family of the peace of mind of complete pre-planned funeral arrangements with another longtime friend, Harry J. Enea, Jr., his son, Kevin and cohort, Martin L. Ciaccia, of the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion, New York (Town of Frankfort), (315) 894-8000.
