Obituary of Elizabeth Ann McCaw

LITTLE FALLS – Elizabeth Ann McCaw, 90, passed away Friday evening, September 9, 2022, at her comfortable home, with her loving family at her side. Elizabeth was born on January 7, 1932, in Little Falls, NY, daughter of the late Paul and Anna (Sivacek) Knop, also of Little Falls. She attended Little Falls schools, but with the death of her mother at an early age, Elizabeth quit school to care for her younger sister and brother. That did not stop her however, from getting her diploma. After 32 years, she went back and earned her GED of which she was most proud. She was in the ‘Class of 1950.’ She was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, in Little Falls. Elizabeth was a wonderful mother who raised two families over her lifetime – her siblings and her own children. She worked various jobs in her young life, but being a mother and homemaker were her most loved. It was when she went to work at Little Falls Hospital (maternity department), she met and maintained many lifetime friends. Elizabeth’s survivors include her loving and devoted children, Wendy (Ed) Cristman, Cynthia McCaw and Todd R. (Cyndie); her grandchildren, Paula (Patrick) Higgins, Kelly (Steven) Cristman, Todd Allen McCaw, Tara McCaw (David Johnson) and Courtney (Dustin) Czechowicz. She leaves six cherished great- grandchildren, Aidan (Jen) Higgins, Christian, Aubrielle, and Everleigh Johnson and Arrow and Timber Czechowicz. She is also survived by her brother, Charles and wife Sandra Knop; along with a very special nephew, Kevin Knop. Elizabeth is predeceased by her parents, Paul and Anna Knop; her brother, Paul Knop; sister, Beverly (Knop) Urich; and her beloved son, George A. McCaw. Most recently, Elizabeth is predeceased by her love, William Sadlon. Many friends made Elizabeth’s life very happy and especially Paulette, “Happy Birthday,” one last time Paulette! A very special thank you is extended to Jean Read, Patrice DeAngelis and Debbie Spytko, all of whom she thought of as “adoptive daughters.” Thank you all for what you have done for mom.
