Obituary of William Elwood Gallagher

MOHAWK – William Elwood Gallagher, age 51, of Mohawk, New York, entered eternal rest, on Friday morning, August 12, 2022, in the privacy of his home, of natural causes. He was born on January 16, 1971, in Ilion, New York, a son of Ervin J. and the late Carlotta (Hilts) Fuller and was educated in local schools. Billy worked with the NYS DOT, out of Herkimer, as a plow driver. He faithfully followed the Yankees and the Cowboys. He leaves many wonderful family members and friends, inclusive to his father, Ervin “Cap” Fuller; his two loving children, Brooke (Mark), of Ilion and Amelia Gallagher, of Fort Plain; three loving siblings, Cynthia Hopkinson “Cindy”, of Mohawk, Arthur “Skeeter” Gallagher, Jr., of Saratoga Springs and Brian (Erin) Fuller, of Slingerlands. Also surviving are his two grandsons, Cole and Caeden. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins; and friends, including Pat Lonis, Ryan and Kirk Hilts and good friend, Ron. William was predeceased by his son, Elwood W. Gallagher; his mother, Carlotta Fuller; and grandmother, Ann Hilts. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours for William, at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, in Herkimer, on Monday, August 22, 2022, from 4 until 6 p.m. Billy’s funeral will begin at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at St. Francis de Sales Church, North Bellinger Street, in Herkimer, where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. He will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, New York, after Mass.
