Obituary of Paul F. LaVeck

Mr. Paul F. LaVeck, age 61, a lifelong Frankfort resident, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, June 26, 2022, at the Siegenthaler Center in New Hartford. At the time of his passing, Paul had the love and support of his family at his bedside. Born on August 5, 1960, Paul was a son of the late Frederick and Helen (Walsh) LaVeck. He was raised and educated locally and attended Frankfort-Schuyler schools. At one time, Paul shared in a marriage with Kim Paugh, a relationship from which they had two children. Paul was a hard worker and as a young man worked for Chip’s Gas Station and then for US Materials. For many years, thereafter, Paul held a position as a machinist with Remington Arms where he worked for over twenty years, until his health no longer allowed him to do so. In his free time, Paul could be found fixing cars or doing home improvement projects. He loved spending time with family and friends camping and boating on Alexandria Bay. He was also gifted in the kitchen and could often be found cooking…and eating! Above all else, nothing gave Paul greater joy than doting on his beloved children and grandchildren. His legacy will forever live on in their hearts. He is survived by his daughter, Johvana LaVeck and PJ Dugan of Frankfort; his son, Eric LaVeck and Brenda Carney of Little Falls; his grandchildren, Jayla, Nathan, Cameron, Elliana, Autumn and Nolan; his siblings, Patrick LaVeck and significant other, Patti Hajduk Drew of Ohio, Patricia McGowan and Larry of Burlington Flats, John LaVeck of Little Falls, MaryAnn and Christopher Fatata of Frankfort, Joe and Debbie LaVeck of Little Falls and Christine and Rick Hawkins of Frankfort. He also leaves an aunt, Marianne Walsh of Texas; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends, with special mention of his caregiver and angel, Ruth Oravsky. Aside from his parents, Paul was predeceased by a special uncle and aunt, Thomas and Florene Walsh. The LaVeck family is forever grateful to the staff and caregivers of the Siegenthaler Center for providing Paul with care, compassion and dignity throughout his final days. Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 4:00PM – 6:00PM at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000. Paul’s funeral service will commence on Thursday at 6:00PM at the funeral home, immediately upon the conclusion of visitation, with Rev. Paul Catena officiating. Paul’s family wishes to memorialize his life by placing his name on the Memorial Giving Tree at the Siegenthaler Center.
