Obituary of Stanton R. Dawley, Sr.

MOHAWK – Stanton “Stan” R. Dawley, Sr., age78, of Columbia St., Mohawk, passed away unexpectantly, on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare, New Hartford, NY, with his family by his side. He was born on January 10, 1944, in Syracuse, NY, the son of Raymond and Anna (Lathrop) Dawley. Stan graduated from Mohawk High School, with the class of 1963. He went on to receive a certificate of completion for a Service Treatment Plant Operator, in Syracuse. Stan was united in marriage to Deborah “Debbie” Blaise, on December 9, 1969, at the Reformed Church, in Mohawk. They enjoyed a loving union for 52 years. In his early years, he was employed at the Texaco Gas Station, on the NYS Thruway, Schuyler. He was the proud owner and operator of Dawley Plumbing and Sewer Cleaning, A.K.A. “The Lone Plumber”, of Mohawk, for 0ver 40 years. He loved to take walks faithfully, every night. He enjoyed Drag Racing at Utica-Rome Speedway and later watched NHRA Racing, on TV. Surviving family members include his loving wife, Debbie; 2 sons, Stan Dawley and his companion, Staci, of Ilion and Don Dawley, of Mohawk; 3 grandchildren, Nathaniel “Nate” Dawley, of Herkimer, Colin Dawley, of Rochester and Alexis Lanphere and her husband, Tyler, of Lafayette, NY; his brothers-in-law, Doug Blaise and his wife, Carrie, of Ilion and Don Blaise and his companion, Christie, of Johnstown; his sister-in-law, Donna Jowett, of Ilion; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother, Anna (Dawley) Ludwig and stepdad, Harry Ludwig; his father, Raymond Dawley; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Libby Blaise. In keeping with Stan’s wishes, there will be no scheduled public calling hours or services. The family will gather privately at their convenience to pay their respects, with private services, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home’s larger facility location, at 4309 Acme Rd. (old Main St.), between Ilion and Frankfort. Burial will be in E. Schuyler Cemetery. Any relatives and family members planning on attending the private services are asked to wear a mask, to protect the family. Thank you for your understanding.
