Obituary of Claudia Ann Brunette

MILLERS MILLS/WEST WINFIELD – Claudia A. Brunette, age 73, of Millers Mills Rd., West Winfield (Town of Columbia), passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, with her family by her side. She was born on February 26, 1949, in Cooperstown, NY. Her parents were Pauline (Shepard) Griffith and Russell Griffith. She attended Cooperstown area schools. Claudia married Lawrence W. Brunette, on April 24, 1966, in Hartwick. At one time, she was employed at Great American, in Ilion and later Duofold Co. Claudia was a devoted mother and homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed crocheting, camping, fishing, hiking, bingo and playing Yahtzee, with her husband, Larry. Surviving family members include her husband, Lawrence “Larry” Brunette, Sr.; her mother, Paulina Griffith, of Hartwick; 4 children, Misty Duncan and her husband, Ken, of Ilion, Barb Brunette and her fiancé, Jason, of Troy, Lawrence Brunette, Jr., of Medina and Bill Brunette and his wife, Victoria, of Ilion; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; her sister, Joanne Roberts, of Hartwick; her brothers, Doug Roberts and his wife, Louise, of Westernville and Bill Roberts and his wife, Sandy, of AZ; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parent, Russell Griffith; and her grandson, Joshua. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home’s larger facility location, at 4309 Acme Rd. (old Main St.), between Ilion and Frankfort. A Celebration of Life/Prayer Service, will be held immediately following calling hours, at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Anyone planning on attending calling hours or the service, are asked to wear a facial mask, to help protect the family. A special thank you to granddaughter, Shelby, for all the special shopping trips and compassionate care that she did for her grandmother, Claudia.
