Obituary of Betty Ferrusi

FRANKFORT – Mrs. Betty J. Ferrusi, age 94, a longtime resident of Ilion and Frankfort, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, April 26, 2022 at Foltsbrook in Herkimer. Betty was born on June 19, 1927 to the late Percy and Nellie (Donahue) Stewart. She was raised and educated in West Winfield schools. On August 10, 1946, Betty was married to Pasqualino A. “Pat” Ferrusi, and the two shared in a devoted union of over seventy years until Pat’s passing on January 2, 2017. For some time, Betty was employed with the former Herkimer Hospital where she worked in different roles, primarily as Head of Housekeeping and as a Nurse’s Aide. Her primary focus, however, was always on tending to her husband, children and household. She loved any time spent with her beloved family and in her spare time she enjoyed decorative painting, craft shows, flowers and antiques. Betty is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Darin and Vicki Ferrusi of Ilion; her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Warren Johnson of Columbus, NY; her grandchildren, Mandy Johnson and Shawn Murray, Michele and Joe Dean, Nathan and Carey; three great-grandchildren; a special cousin, Beatrice Turner; her friend and neighbor, Sandy Delia; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service, commemorating the lives of Betty and Pat, on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 11:00AM at Cedarville Cemetery. The Ferrusi family would like to thank the Bono Brothers and family for the kindness and care shown to Betty and Pat throughout the years.
