Obituary of Renee M. Bayer

ILION - Mrs. Renee M. Bayer, age 51, of Ilion, New York, passed away unexpectedly, on Sunday, April 10, 2022, in Utica, New York. She was born on September 14, 1970, in Morristown, Vermont, a daughter of the late Sidney and Rodena (Sauer) Jowett. She was educated in Mohawk schools. Renee touched many lives and was most proud of her service as a nurse in caring for residents of the Mohawk Valley. She loved to travel, attended many ‘Jimmy Buffett’ concerts, was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and enjoyed coffee time with her special friends. She had an enduring love of animals and truly enjoyed her Labrador Retrievers, Bosco and Duncan. Her most precious time was spent with her grandson, Patrick. She leaves many wonderful family members and friends including her loving husband, Randy A. Bayer; her two children, Victoria Loomis, of Amherst, WI and Shaun Loomis, of Sauquoit, NY; grandson, Patrick Thomas Loomis whom she loved and adored; sister, Kim Kolar, of Ilion, NY; brothers, Mark Hunt and wife, Kim, of Minot, ND, Edward (Paul) Hunt, of Mohawk, NY, Thomas Jowett and wife, Carol, of Clinton, NY, Ronald Jowett, of Mohawk, NY and William Jowett; and many special friends. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her beloved canine, Mia. Renee was predeceased by her parents; and her brother, Steven J. Jowett, Sr., of Ilion. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours for Renee at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Frankfort/Ilion, NY, on Thursday, April 14, 2022, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m, with a service to follow. Everyone is invited to a reception to celebrate Renee’s life following the service, at the Mohawk American Legion. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Herkimer County Humane Society, 514 State Rte 5S, Mohawk, NY 13407. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Interment for Renee will take place Friday morning, at 10:00 a.m., at Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion. The family would like to thank the Ilion Fire and Police Departments and also the staff at the St. Elizabeth’s ER and ICU for all their support.
