Obituary of Carlotta Fuller

EAST HERKIMER – Mrs. Carlotta Fuller, age 72, of East Herkimer, New York, entered into eternal rest on Saturday morning, April 2, 2022, in Utica, New York, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on May 2, 1949, in Ilion, New York, a daughter of the late Elwood and Ann (Wardzenski) Hilts and was educated in Mohawk schools. Carlotta was actively involved in the operation of Mrs. Shake in Mohawk, New York. She was an amazing cook and always looked forward to family gatherings and showcasing her talents. Carlotta also had a strong belief in God and taking care of others. She leaves many wonderful family members and friends to carry on her legacy, inclusive to her loving husband, Ervin “Cap” Fuller; her four children, Cynthia Hopkinson, of Mohawk, Arthur “Skeeter” Gallagher, of Saratoga Springs, William Gallagher, of Mohawk and Brian (Erin) Fuller, of Slingerlands; her daughter-in-law, Erika Gallagher; and her beloved canine, Gracie Ann. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Brandon (Courtney), Brooke (Mark), Juwan, Amelia, Jamie, Emma and Nathan; and her great-grandchildren, Zoey, Jacoby, Caeden and Cole. Her siblings survive as well, sisters, Beverly Fike and Marilyn Murphy; and her brothers, Richard, Elwood, Robert and Donald Hilts; and a special cousin, Mary Catherine Ackley. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and her friends, Laurie Landry and Bill and Rosemary Parody. Carlotta was predeceased by her parents, Ann & Elwood; her brothers, Ronald, William, John and Charles; her sister, Shirley Gay; and her grandson, Elwood Gallagher. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours for Carlotta at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, in Herkimer (315) 866-1011, on Thursday April 7, 2022, from 4 until 7 p.m. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home for those who wish to offer a donation in loving memory of Carlotta, to the American Cancer Society, PO box 42040, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123. Carlotta’s funeral will begin at 9:15 a.m., on Friday, April 8, 2022, from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered, thence to St. Francis de Sales Church, North Bellinger Street, in Herkimer, where at 10:00 a.m. her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. She will be laid to rest later this spring at Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, New York. Our family extends their gratitude and a very special thank you to all of those who supported us with special prayers and well wishes, also, to Dr. Butala and his staff and to Jill, Physical Therapist, for their outstanding care and concern for Carlotta and the family.
