Obituary of James N. Cramer

OPPENHEIM - James N. Cramer, age 85, of Oppenheim, NY went home to be with the Lord, on March 21, 2022, at the St. Mary's Hospital, in Amsterdam. He was born at home, on July 19, 1936, in Palatine Bridge, to Paul J. and Anna M. Cramer (Page). He was a 1956 graduate of the Canajoharie Central High School. He went on to earn an associate degree in Animal Husbandry at the State University of New York Agricultural and Technical Institute, in Cobleskill. For many years, he was employed at the Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company, in Utica. He also enjoyed working on area dairy farms. He was married to Myrtle M. Everson, on June 26, 1965, at the Dennison Corner Community Church, in Mohawk, which was officiated by Pastor Alfred Shelby Ham. He accepted Jesus as his personal Savior as a boy, at the Fundamental Baptist Church, in Edinburg, Texas. He was a member of the Amazing Grace Baptist Church (formerly Fords Bush Bible Church), in Fort Plain. For many years, he served as a Deacon and drove buses and vans to ensure those needing transportation could attend church services. He is survived by his son, Jesse Cramer (Janice), of Conway, SC; his four daughters, Mary Jo (Alan) Rose, of Rogers City, MI, Nanette (Edward) Krasher, of Fonda, Michelle (Mark) Chambers, of Kirkland, IL and their sons, McKendric, Masen and Matteson, Melinda (Kenneth) Thomas, of Oppenheim and their children, Faith (RJ) Millet, of Richfield Springs, Catherine and James; his brothers, Gerald Cramer, of Amsterdam and Charles(Mary) Cramer, of Baldwinsville; and extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Myrtle Cramer, who recently passed away on February 14, 2022; his brothers, Paul and Laurence; and his sisters, Betty Seiffert and Muriel Dean. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., at the Amazing Grace Baptist Church, Fort Plain. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda. Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. at the church until the time of the service.
