Obituary of David M. Cole

ILION – David M. Cole, 50, of Ilion, New York, passed away surrounded with the love of his family, on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at MVHS, Faxton-St. Luke’s Campus, in the Town of New Hartford, New York. He was born on April 17, 1971, in Herkimer, New York and attended Mount Markham schools. He was married to his beloved wife, Sarah A. (Servidone), on September 12, 2009, in the beautiful park in Mohawk, New York. Dave lived a fulfilled life, always surrounded by the greatest of family and friends, all who survive him, inclusive to his wife, Sarah; and his loving mother, Carol (DeMars) Cole. Recently, Dave’s dad, David H. Cole, predeceased him and his love, Judy Lennox survives; and his mother-in-law, Kathy Markwardt. Dave will always be in the hearts of his siblings: his twin sister, Deborah Mowers (Dan Yost, aka ‘Farmer Dan’), Jodi Bard (Alan), and Jenny McEvoy-Stack (recently predeceased by his brother-in- law, Tommy); and nieces and nephews, inclusive to Jamie, Derek, Madeline, Jonah, Evan, James and Jasper; and his near and dear canine companion, Bailey. He is also survived by his stepsons, Dale Doxstader (Erin), Aaron Doxstader and Dana Doxstader (Amber); as well as their children, Cynthia, Jayden, Kaydence, Kamryn, Carson, Jaxson, Brooklynn and Bryson; and his in-laws, Bob and Liz Servidone, Jean and Scott Rockwell and Joe and Schelli Servidone. We would like to acknowledge a group of very special friends to Dave, inclusive to Dan, Randy, Ferdula, Woody, all his buddies at the West Hill Social Club and those surrounding his lifetime membership of the Ilion Marine Corps League. As mentioned, Dave was predeceased by his dad and brother- in-law. Other family members that have gone before us include his grandparents, Bucky and Madeline DeMars, Arly Cole and Mary and Babe Beauchamp; and his father-in-law, Fred Markwardt. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, in Ilion, New York. The service will also be conducted at the funeral home following the calling hours from 6:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., on Wednesday. His spring interment Burial Service at Armory Hill Cemetery will take place this spring, at the discretion of his family. Immediately following the funeral home service on Wednesday, please join us at the Ilion Marine Corps League, on Second Street, for the celebration of a life well lived. All are welcome.
