Obituary of Todd Michael Heselton

SCHUYLER – Todd Michael Heselton, age 51 years, 9 months, beloved son of Leon W. and Emlyann Heselton, passed away peacefully in his sleep, from complications of type 2 diabetes, at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at his home, on Shortlots Road, Schuyler. He was born on June 16, 1970, in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Leon W. Heselton and Emlyann (Ingraham) Heselton. Todd was a self employed visionary, drummer, inventor and designer. He invented Stickflip and received a patent. Todd designed and sold special drumsticks and owned and operated the Drumstick Accessory Co., of Schuyler. Besides the foregoing, he invented the UV-IT ultra violet sanitizing machine, to be used by the public to sanitize cell phones and tablets, as well as other electronic devices. He designed and built a portable, heated outdoor shower to rinse off after swimming and the family would like to build and sell these unique devices. Todd was a star soccer player for Whitesboro Jr-Sr High School. He also trained as an armed Security Guard and received his license. Todd played the drums at the Schuyler Assembly. Todd trained as a fork lift operator for Walmart, but was laid off in a cutback. He later worked for the Utica Observer Dispatch, but they were sold out to the present operators, and again, he was laid off. Undeterred, he turned to inventing. Surviving family members include his father, Leon; his brother, Elroy Heselton and his wife, Elizabeth, of Lakeport, NY; his sisters, EmmyLou Hock and her husband, Jerry, of Buffalo and Lee Ann Fahy, of Florida; several nieces; nephews; 4 grand-nieces and 2 grand-nephews, Torsten and Brynja Hock, Lily and Ruby Fahy and Hona Lora and Wolf Hock; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother, Emlyann Heselton, in June, 2017.
