Obituary of Rose M. Johnson

HERKIMER-MOHAWK - Rose M. Johnson, age 70, of Maple Grove Ave., Herkimer, formerly of Mohawk, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at The Grand, in Ilion, with her family by her side. She was born on February 11, 1952, in Oneonta, the daughter of Bill and Dee Sheldon and graduated from Richfield Springs Central School. On October 23, 1971, she was married to Kenneth Johnson, at St. John’s Church, Richfield Springs, NY. He died on February 19, 2003. Rose enjoyed sitting on her front porch and spending time with her family. Surviving family members include her daughters, Roxanne Johnson and Tina Johnson; her son, Kenneth E. Johnson, Jr. and his wife, Karen; her 5 grandchildren, Thomas Groom, Brandon Johnson, Dillon Johnson, Sawyer Ferrera and Ryan Taylor; her 5 great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Groom, Lucas Burns and Jaidyn, Greyson and Kalie Hawkins; several nieces and nephews; her brother-in-law, Wayne Johnson; and sister-in-law, Sharon Mayeda. She was predeceased by her husband; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Edward and Norma Johnson. In keeping with Rose’s wishes, there will be no scheduled calling hours or services at this time. A Celebration of Rose’s Life and Graveside Committal Service will be held later this spring, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer, at the convenience of the family.
