Obituary of Betty Ann Alguire

Betty Ann Alguire, age 89, entered into eternal rest on February 23, 2022. Betty Ann was born on September 15, 1932, in Little Falls, NY and was the daughter of the late George and Betty Kubica. She received her education at Little Falls High School and graduated with the class of 1950. Betty Ann was joined in marriage with Robert Charles Alguire on January 24, 1953, at the First Presbyterian Church in Little Falls. They shared 58 years of marriage until his passing on February 26, 2011. Betty Ann was employed by the Little Falls City School District as secretary to the superintendent and the high school principal until her retirement. She also worked for several years as the city tax collector. Betty Ann was an avid golfer and longtime member of the Mohawk Valley Country Club where she won women’s club championships and scored a hole-in-one. She had many interests which included needlepoint, knitting, reading, playing bridge, visiting with her neighbors, and taking long walks. Betty Ann is survived by her daughter, Cynthia; her cherished grandsons Samuel Jay Harkins and Aaron James Griffin; and her great grandchildren Ava, Jacob, and Hayden Harkins. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Robert, her brother George Kubica, and her son Brian Robert Alguire. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Little Falls Public Library, 10 Waverly Place, Little Falls, NY 13365 or to a charity of one’s choice. Betty Ann’s arrangements have been made with Harry Enea, Director of the Enea Family Funeral Home at 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls. In keeping with her wishes, services will be at the convenience of the family.
