Obituary of Theresa Mary Tamburrino

HERKIMER – Mrs. Theresa Mary Tamburrino, age 96, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, November 14, 2021, surrounded by her family. Born on June 2, 1925, in Dolgeville, NY, Theresa was the daughter of the late Donato and Mary (Lasesso) Musella. Her childhood years were spent in Dolgeville where she was raised and educated. On September 27, 1952, Theresa was blessed to enter into holy matrimony with Phil Tamburrino in St. Joseph’s Church in Dolgeville. Together, they were blessed with almost forty years of marriage, until Phil’s passing in 1990. For many years, Theresa was employed with General Electric where she excelled to the position of Group Leader. First and foremost, however, was always the well-being of her family and she took great pleasure in gathering together her beloved children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her presence will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Theresa is survived by her daughters, Elaine Ray and husband, William, of Herkimer and Janet Tamburrino and husband, John Bullis, of Fairfield; her son, Bob Tamburrino and wife, Jackie, of Newtown, PA; one sister, Anna Musella of Dolgeville; her eight grandchildren, Amy (Jason) Phillips, Alicia Ray (Joe Moncur), Dr. Amanda Ray (William Hoyne), Karlene (James) Peck, Dr. Kimberly (Thomas) Sexton, Chris Tamburrino, Dr. Carey (Eric) Guise and Michael (Laura) Tamburrino; along with nine great-grandchildren, Daphne Phillips, Hailey and Easton Peck, Makenzie and Abigail Theresa Sexton, Beau, Boone and Briggs Guise, and Clara Tamburrino; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Aside from her husband and parents, Theresa was predeceased by her infant son, John Tamburrino, in 1965; along with several siblings. Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours for Theresa on Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 2:00PM – 4:00PM at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, Herkimer, NY (315) 866-1011. Theresa’s funeral service will commence on Monday morning, November 22, 2021 at 10:00AM at St. Francis de Sales Church in Herkimer, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Spring interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to St. Francis de Sales Church in Herkimer and the East Herkimer Fire Department.
