Obituary of Lauren S. (Cigale) Madden

LITTLE FALLS - Lauren Susan (Cigale) Madden, born May 23, 1977, in Little Falls, New York, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family at her side in Boynton Beach, Florida, on Sunday, July 25, 2021. Loving mother of Nathan M. Madden and wife of Jonathan P. Madden; with surviving parents, Bruce and Lynne Cigale; and with siblings, brother, Matthew J. Cigale and wife, Jennifer, and inseparable sister Erin L. Grandy and husband, Richard; along with several adorable nieces and nephews. Lauren was also close with her loving cousins, Betsy, Jackie, Marilyn and Teresa, who all provided amazing support for Lauren and her family. Lauren moved to Palm Beach County in 2000, following graduation from S.U.N.Y. Oswego, joining her brother and meeting her future husband. Before long, strong “family gravity” drew her parents and sister to the area and a new home for the Cigale family was established. Nathan, son of Lauren and Jonathan, joined the family in 2006. Lauren’s love for Nate outshined all other light that ever existed. He continues to learn how fortunate he was to have Lauren as his mother and to have this family to support him forever. Frequent family dinners and vacations together ensured family bonds flourished and soon nephews and nieces (the latest generation of cousins) were part of the mix and this incredible family. Lauren built meaningful relationships because she was simply a sincere, genuine, kind hearted person and her family is blessed to have the support of loving friends and family, local and far away. She lived with metastatic breast cancer for many years, but instead of focusing on her disease and the challenges it created, she prioritized enjoying special moments with her family and friends and making everyone laugh. While successfully climbing the ranks from recruiter jobs ultimately to Human Resources Director at the Boca Raton Regional Hospital, she gained respect and affection of so many. She also gained true friends to laugh with and to cry with. Lauren loved so much for all of us and we love so much for her, a love that will exist forever. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Lauren’s honor to www.bocapinkball.com, an organization founded by "baseball moms" who were moved to create a fund for screening and diagnostic mammograms and breast ultrasounds for women in our community who are uninsured or under insured who may not qualify for other types of grants/funds. Local arrangements have been entrusted to the Enea Family Funeral Home, Little Falls, NY, Funeral Directors, Harry J. Enea, Jr., Kevin E. Enea and Martin L. Ciaccia, with all our love (315-823-2424).
