Obituary of Ricky D. Maida

ROME/DOLGEVILLE – Mr. Ricky David Maida, age 60, currently of Rome and formerly of Dolgeville, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday morning, April 5, 2018, in the privacy and comfort of his home.

 

Born on April 11, 1957, Ricky is the son of Francis “Frit” Maida and the late Marlene (Circhirillo) Maida. He was raised and educated in Dolgeville, graduating from Dolgeville High School with the Class of 1975. His marriage to the former Pamela Kamerer took place on August 13, 1983 in Dolgeville, and together they shared in a loving and devoted union of almost thirty-five years.

 

Ricky was a hard worker and held various positions throughout his career; the majority of which was spent with the New York State Department of Mental Health as a Therapy Aide, a position from which he retired after seventeen years. Subsequently, he held employment for many years as a financial advisor with Prudential.

 

At home, Ricky was a family man with a heart of gold and a deep love for his wife, daughters, and especially his grandson, Bennett, who for two years was his constant pride and joy. His hobbies included music, cars, and painting.

 

He is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela; his two cherished daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Lance Mosher of Mohawk and Courtney and Jason Eggleston of Rome; and his cherished grandson, Bennett Mosher. He eagerly awaited the arrival of his soon-to-be grandchild, who is due to arrive in May of this year. Ricky also leaves behind his father, Francis “Frit” Maida of Herkimer; his sister, Gina Camardello and her partner, Dan Dievendorf of Fulton, NY; his mother-in-law, Frances Kamerer of Herkimer; a special cousin, Carl Marucci of Herkimer; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 

He was predeceased by his mother, Marlene Maida and his father-in-law, Raymond Kamerer.

 

In keeping with Ricky’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. His family bid their farewells to him in a private gathering.
