Obituary of Hale Chauvin

FRANKFORT – Mr. Hale Chauvin, age 86, a longtime Frankfort resident, passed away on March 16, 2018, in the privacy and comfort of his home.

Born on October 3, 1931, Hale was the son of the late Charles F. and Lillian (Newman) Chauvin. He was raised and educated in Herkimer, graduating from Herkimer High School. He then went on to further his education at Binghamton University.

As a young man, Hale was wed to the former Josephine Campalugo and together they shared in sixty-eight years of marriage. They were a hardworking and supportive couple, who raised their daughters on conservative values and instilled in them a deep drive to succeed. They enjoyed travelling and were blessed to spend their 25th and 50th wedding anniversaries in Hawaii.

For over thirty-five years, Hale was employed with Chicago Pneumatic, where he retired from as a foreman. He was actively involved within his community and held memberships with the Frankfort Volunteer Fire Department, the St. Francis di Paola Society, the Winter Club, and the Ilion Elks Club. He was an avid outdoorsman, skilled in hunting and fishing, and spent years camping with his family on the Great Sacandaga Lake. In his down time, he enjoyed a good ball game and was a fan of the NY Yankees and Green Bay Packers.

He will be missed by his beloved wife, Josephine; his two daughters, Sherry Chauvin and wife, Susan, of Waltham, MA and Denise Spagnola of Frankfort; his granddaughter, Tracy Lebert of Frankfort; two great-grandchildren, Cody Lebert and Kaleigh Lebert; his sister, Mindy Scher of Nanuet, NY; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends, Buster Klock and Jane Williams.

Besides his parents, Hale was predeceased by his in-laws, Ann and Ralph Donahue, MaryJane and Tex Caivana, Rosalie and David Stark, Joseph and Mary Riscica and Michael and Josephine Rolchigo.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend Hale’s funeral service and Celebration of Life, which will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 11:00AM at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000.
