Please accept our condolences during this time of distress. While it is indeed sad that you are mourning the loss of your dear Dorothy, it saddens God more. In the days ahead, you will reflect on seemingly small, yet precious memories. However, take comfort in knowing that just as you have memories, almighty God remembers too. The difference is, God has the ability to restore perfect life to those in His memory as expressed in the faith strengthening video Below:

Mrs. Caulkins was also my 6th grade teacher at Barringer Road - and as Mrs. Myers I'm pretty sure she taught some of my siblings. She was one of those teachers who made you feel confident that you could try harder and do more. Having felt the love she had for her students, I'm very sorry to hear of your loss - it must be very difficult indeed. I hope you take comfort from knowing many of us are thinking of you and hoping you find comfort in our thoughts.

It is with fondness that I share these memories of Mrs. Caulkins, who was my sixth grade teacher. I learned a lot from her in terms of academics, but what I remember most is that she came to my aid more than once on the playground. In those days when teasing and even bullying were the norm, she stood for none of that when she was on watch. She taught me to stand up for myself as well, and I tried to model myself after her strength. She taught me to be smart and courageous. Please know that she shaped many young lives, and she is remembered.

Mrs. Caulkins was my 6th grade teacher at Barringer Road. She instilled a life long thirst for learning and was always there with support, guidance and love. May she rest in piece and always know that she touched the heart of this former student.

Mrs. Caulkins was a wonderful lady. She was my 6th grade teacher at Barringer Road Elementary. We were the class that built the house in the middle of the circle. She encouraged, enlightened, embraced and engaged her students on so many levels. I also delivered her newspaper to her for a couple of years and I will always remember her inviting me in when the weather was bad. I will remember her smile and laughter, both of which she had plenty of and shared often. Rest in peace, Mrs. Cauklins, knowing you touched, changed and made a huge difference in the lives of many Ilion young people. God bless.

Rest well Aunt Dot. I have fond memories of playing croquet and riding the pontoon boat up at camp. What I remember most about our vacations was all of the love and the laughter. There was never any shortage of them. Love you always.

"Mrs. C!" was my teacher in 1975. I liked Dorothy's class for her patience and relatability. I wish prayers for her and happy memories for the family.

I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Caulkins passing. She was my sixth grade teacher and had a great impact on me. She helped me become a better student and a stronger self reliant person. She brought the best out of her students and I still talk about her and the lessons I learned from her with my young son’s today. She will be remembered and missed.
