Obituary of Evelyn Hill

LITTLE FALLS – Evelyn Hill, a lifelong resident of Little Falls, NY, passed away at the age of 98 on Friday September 22, 2017 at Valley Health Services in Herkimer, NY.

She was born on December 19, 1918 in Little Falls, NY, a daughter of the late Franklin P. and Mary (Kiley) Hill. As a young girl, she played trombone in the Little Falls Marching Band. She was a graduate of Little Falls High School.

She began working at JC Penny in 1944 and retired after forty years of dedicated service as a merchandise assistant. While at JC Penny, she helped to train seven store managers and many more associates. She was a member of the Holy Family Parish.

She is survived by her niece Barbara Moore, Richmond, Virginia, three grandnieces, three grandnephews, and her good friend Sylvia George.

She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Vivian Hill, her brother Leland Hill, a niece Doris Manning, and a nephew Leland Hill, Jr.

There are no calling hours. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday September 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Family Parish Church, corner of East Main & John Streets, Little Falls, officiated by Rev. Terence Healy and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer.
