Obituary of Doris I. Bucek

LITCHFIELD-Doris I. Bucek, age 90, of Litchfield, passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon, September 30, 2016 in the comfort of her home. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by the love and support of her beautiful family. She was born on September 12, 1926 in Ferndale, Michigan, the daughter of the late Opie and Frieda (Burger) Vineyard. Doris was raised in Mohawk and graduated from Mohawk Central School. She married Walter Bucek on March 2, 1946. Doris worked on the family farm and in the UNIVAC Division of Sperry Rand. She liked to play cards with her family and enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens. She also loved making blankets and giving them away. She was happiest when she was with her family. She will be missed beyond words. Surviving Doris are her beloved daughter, Donna and Fran Macrina, JoAnn and Gary Rigo, Karen Bucek and Dan Jory, and Christine and Randy Shields; her cherished grand children, Eric Macrina, Mindy Rigo and her boyfriend Curt Kemp, Joe Macrina and his wife Pam, Amanda Shields, and Brittney Jory; two great-grandchildren, Sophia and John Macrina. She also leaves her sister, Virginia Dunn of New Hampshire and her brother, Jack Vineyard of Cooperstown, as well as several nieces and nephews around the country. She loved her whole family and they were her life. She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, her mother and father, and her sisters, Pauline Bruce and Nora Waterbury. The family would like to extend their thanks to the St. Luke’s Home, Hospice, and Live Long at Home for their exceptional care and support. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road (Town of Frankfort), Ilion, NY (315)894-8000. Funeral services will begin at 9:15 AM, Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the funeral home where prayers will be offered, and 10:00 AM at the Mohawk Reformed Church, 20 S. Otsego Street, Mohawk, NY with Pastor Brian Engel, officiating. Procession will follow to Litchfield Cemetery, Town of Litchfield where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Walter. Remembrances in Doris’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements are being planned with Harry J. and Kevin E.
